Vanessa Zambotti-Barreto (born March 4, 1982 in Parral, Chihuahua[1]) is a judoka from Mexico.

Vanessa was born in Parral, Chihuahua what is region of very good wine. She lives in Mexico City and trains judo in CONADE.
Her biggest motivation in her live is family. She says that they are something like batteries for her.
She studied sports administration at Universidad del Valle and got degree.[2]
During 2003 Pan American Games she suffered injury of right shoulder. Injury did not look serious and she had competed with it till summer 2005 when all this pain became unsufferable. Few weeks before 2005 World Judo Championships in Cairo she underwent surgery and spent whole year with recovering.[3]
After 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she changed trainer, now it was a Brazilian Amadeus Díaz de Moura.
Vanessa is one of the best judoka in heavyweight category. She can always surprise because her category is little erratic. Her biggest advantage is her size and experiences.
She participated at two Olympic games.
In 2004 in Athens she won her first match against Tsvetana Bozhilova from Bulgaria but lost second match against Barbara Andolina from Italy. Italian girl lost her next match so Vanesse could not start in repêchage.
At 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing she was medal hope for Mexico as winner of Pan American Games from previous year. But in second match she bumped on Olympic champions from Athens Maki Tsukada. She lost this match and finally took 9th place.
